Grosse Pression
“GROSSE PRESSION” was born from a common desire to develop the idea of a rhythmical exhibition bringing together musical performance and visual act. We had this idea of a drumming instrument played with the feet. Thought at first as a huge vibraphone, its final electronic version, later on, baptised “DUCHOPHONE”, quickly imposed itself for its great flexibility and incomparable sound richness. And this is how, after a couple years research, experimenting, changes and improvements, we created 10 acts which we hope are unique. They’re our basic material - the show’s spine. At the same time, we have worked with Stéphane Clément (stage director for “La Compagnie Albédo - The Bigbrozers”), around the characters who naturally came out as mute clowns. Roger and Nico, naïve, awkward, thin-skin, reactive and clumsy, give life and joy to these crazy performing acts. They sew their sporting musicians’ suits and then began to play this performance under the spotlights. The lack of text, gives a universal dimension to both band-brothers and allows them to touch the public beyond the language limit. Since then, in about a hundred performances, Roger and Nico evolve, grow up, mature, slip, adapt but always giving us a lot of simple joy. | ||||||||||||||
